Energy healing: The medicine of the future
“In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.” Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Nobel Laureate in Medicine
“To leave energetic considerations out of the equations of life and medicine is to ignore some 99% of what is happening. We are just beginning to map the energetic pathways in the body. We just need a way to communicate with these electronic circuits, to turn on the right switches and harness the body’s ability to heal spontaneously. Energetic approaches work quickly and with few side-effects. This is the Medicine of the future.” James Oschman, PhD, Biophysicist
“There have been attempts to establish a Quantum Medicine, but it was not until BodyTalk that the discoveries in Quantum physics became part of the daily reality of many healthcare practitioners and their patients.” James L Oschman, PhD, Nature’s Own Research Association
Is BodyTalk the medicine of the future?
BodyTalk is a form of integrative medicine that offers energy healing. It is based on observations and experiments from quantum physics showing that matter and energy are inseparable. Our thoughts are energy, our bodies are energy, money is also energy. Moreover, everything in the universe is connected!
In BodyTalk, the practitioner connects to the client’s innate wisdom using muscular feedback from the client’s body. We literally let the client’s body “talk” and tell us what needs to be balanced. Using muscular feedback from the client ensures the practitioner is objective and does what the client needs, not what the practitioner thinks they need. The techniques used in BodyTalk help enhance the balance in the body by highlighting different areas and holding the energetic focus there. Tapping lightly on the head and sternum stimulates the brain and the nervous system. Thus, BodyTalk is completely safe, yet highly effective.
The BodyTalk System’s basic premise (shared with Quantum Physics) is that energy can transform matter and that we are all energetically connected. But how do we know that this is true? If you are asking yourself this question, you are not alone! Many people wonder where we get the evidence that everything is connected. Read on to find out!
Experiments to blow you away
In this experiment, it was demonstrated that when humans think, plants respond accordingly. For instance, if we intend to burn a plant’s leaf (without actually doing it), the plant shows measurable signs of stress the very moment we think the threatening thought. The same stress is measured when the threat is acted out.
To perform the experiment, Cleve Backster used a lie detector. A lie detector measures the skin’s electrical resistance (among other things). When the body is in stress, the sweat glands work harder, and the skin’s electrical resistance drops, i.e. the electrical conductance increases (NB: water is highly conductive in terms of electricity). When the body is calm, the electrical conductance is decreased. One day Backster, who was CIA’s expert on lie detection at the time, decided to use a lie detector device to see how long it would take for the water to get from the root to the leaves of one of his plants. He hooked up one of the plant’s leaves to the lie detector’s electrodes. His expectation was that as the water reached the leaf, the electrical conductance would increase. But as he poured the water, the very opposite occurred – the conductance actually started to drop (just like in humans when they are well hydrated and therefore less stressed) and then displayed a short-term blip, similar to what happens when a person briefly experiences a fear of detection. The fact that the plant was showing the same readings as a human would, prompted Backster to do some further investigation. He was curious to see what would happen if the plant was in high stress. If the plant’s reaction was indeed the same as a human reaction would be, the expectation was that the resistance would drop and the electric conductance would increase. Now Backster had to come up with a way to stress out the plant. His first thought was to burn one of the leaves and he was just about to go get the matches when he noticed that the lie detector was already showing an increase in electrical conductance. He had not burnt the plant!!!! He had only thought of doing it and yet the plant responded in the same way as if its leaf was being burnt.
Over the next decade or so, Backster and his partner Henson modified the experiment and designed a more sophisticated equipment. They did experiments with other living systems and eventually designed a method for testing human cells. They did hundreds of variations of the experiment and kept replicating the same results. Thus, they invariably confirmed that all living systems are connected, and energy in the form of human thoughts has a measurable physical manifestation. Backster’s experimental results are now widely acknowledged and frequently cited in literature on Quantum Physics and Energy Medicine.

Dr Michael Lieberman showed experimentally that an unborn child grows emotionally agitated (as measured by the quickening of the heart beat) each time the mother thinks of having a cigarette. She doesn’t even have to put it to her lips or light a match! Just her idea of having a cigarette is enough to upset the foetus.
Back to BodyTalk
Given Backster’s and other similar scientific experiments, it becomes easier to understand how in a BodyTalk session the practitioner communicates with the client’s body silently. If you have ever had a BodyTalk treatment, more than likely your BodyTalk practitioner did not talk out loud but asked questions in their head and then did muscle testing to get a Yes or No answer. Ever wondered how come your body knows what questions the practitioner asks? Backster’s experiments give us the answer: our thought is energy connected to all other energy systems. When the practitioner tunes into the client’s innate wisdom, the exchange of energy happens instantaneously and communication is effected effortlessly.
