In this BodyTalk4Life newsletter, I give you some interesting and useful information to help you choose the best healing therapy for yourself. I also share an AMAZING story about one of my clients that blew me away and I am sure it will have the same effect on you. Last but not least, I wish you a Merry Xmas and a very happy New Year!
Traditional or alternative medicine – how to choose?
Medical intervention is hardly scientifically proven
According to studies from 1991, only 15% of all medical intervention practiced by doctors was supported by solid scientific evidence. What about the remaining 85%? A paper recently published in the American Medical Association’s Archives of Internal Medicine reports that doctors commonly rely on assumptions that are not at all scientifically based. Rather, their suggested course of treatment is essentially a guess reliant upon their own previous experience coupled with their colleagues’ current opinions.
The Journal of The Royal Society for the Promotion of Health has published a study which reports that there are 65 different types of prostheses for hip replacement used in English hospitals MOST of which have NEVER been investigated. Another study reveals similar findings with regard to surgical intervention for prostatectomy, hysterectomy, tonsillectomy and carotid endarterectomy.
NZ doctors refer patients for alternative therapies
In a study of 249 Auckland GPs, 68.7% routinely referred their patients for complementary and alternative therapies! The same study also found that 30% of the surveyed GPs practice a form of alternative therapy themselves!!!
The most common reason given by New Zealand GPs for referrals to complementary and alternative therapies was «the failure of conventional medicine».
So, what is the truth?
We believe that there is no such thing as THE TRUTH. When it comes to healing, there is certainly a place for alternative therapies as well as allopathic medicine. However, we encourage you to exhaust the safe and non-invasive options first before resorting to a treatment that is obviously invasive and may have side effects.
BodyTalk is a form of integrative medicine based on quantum healing principles and is certainly non-invasive and very safe. But BodyTalk is by far not the only option available to you. Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, and Osteopathy(to name but a few) are all alternative therapies that fall in the scope of energy medicine and offer energy healing that may be much safer and often more effective than allopathic interventions.
The beauty of BodyTalk is that it is a holistic healing therapy encompassing the knowledge and expertise of a number of traditional and alternative medical streams. BodyTalk integrates:
- the most up-to-date anatomical and physiological knowledge from western medical expertise
- the wisdom of advanced yoga
- the energy dynamics of acupuncture
- osteopathic and chiropractic philosophy
- the clinical findings of Applied Kinesiology
- the insights of quantum physics and mathematics
How do I know which therapy is best for me?
Your own trust in the practitioner and in the process plays a huge role in healing. If you believe you will be helped, you are right. If you believe you are not going to be helped, you are also right. Let your intuition guide you in your choice. In case intuition escapes you and you find the decision-making process difficult, BodyTalk can certainly help you with that. Clients who receive BodyTalk become much more in tune with themselves, the fear of making mistakes dissipates, decision making becomes natural, effortless and free of regret. If it turns out that BodyTalk is not for you and that you would rather benefit from a different type of therapy, that will come up in your BodyTalk session as a result of consulting your very own innate wisdom, and we will then refer you accordingly.
BodyTalk says «Go to your GP immediately»
In my early days of practicing BodyTalk, I was seeing a client who thought she had hypoglycaemia. Whenever the body was not feeling right, she would look for something sweet thinking that her sugar levels were too low and that that was causing the symptoms.
One day she came for her BodyTalk treatment and I didn’t get permission to treat her. We always ask for permission to start a BodyTalk treatment using bio-muscular feedback from your body. If permission is not given by your own innate wisdom, we look for alternative ways to help you, such as referring you to a different practitioner.
Through testing, I established that instead of receiving BodyTalk, my client was supposed to see her GP and have her blood-sugar levels tested immediately. My client undertook this testing straight away and it turned out that her blood-sugar levels were so high that she might have had to be hospitalised had it not been seen to immediately. If she hadn’t performed the test, she would have eaten more sugar thinking she didn’t have enough and the damage could have been critical.
Both she and I are still amazed at the effectiveness and accuracy of the BodyTalk System and have certainly gained a lot more trust in the process since that event.
